Melbourne Girls’ College develops each student’s confidence and skills to speak to an audience to persuade, explain, or tell a story through our normal classroom activities, leadership programs, and specific programs.
Students are provided with the opportunity to participate in public speaking events through our successful relationship with Rotary.
We have a number of teams for Years 9 to 12 students to participate in the Debaters Association of Victoria (DAV) competition. Students in Years 7 and 8 also have the opportunity to learn debating skills at a series of workshops run by DAV and as part of our school program.
