Human Powered Cinema

MGC has been celebrating sustainability for over a decade and is proud to host the world’s only annual Human Powered Moonlight Cinema on the final Friday in February each year. Bring your family along to Melbourne Girls’ College in Richmond to participate in a unique event on the picturesque banks of the Yarra River. Check out the video here.

Students will pedal and row all day to generate electricity to show the film and the public are encouraged jump on a bike or ergo machine for 5 minutes from 5pm to ensure we never run out of fuel! Speaking of fuel, the good folk from “The Corner Store Network” will be selling Solar powered, carbon neutral coffees throughout the night. Bike n Blend will literally be pedalling their magic fruit smoothies to wash down the hot buttered popcorn, zero waste packaged fairy floss, soft serve or even a delicious Paella from www.paellapan.com.au  will be on sale- All that or you can BYO picnic and drinks and make a great, carbon neutral night of it!
