Confucius Institute

The Confucius Classroom in Melbourne Girls’ College has a close association with the Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne.

MGC_Confucius_RoomAt Melbourne Girls’ College we are fortunate to have three specialist teachers in charge of Chinese in 2017. We also have the added benefit of two Hanban sponsored Chinese teachers who help with student’s needs across the year levels, as well as assist in the organization of a variety of cultural activities such as the Chinese Culture Day, a nation-wide speakers competition and excursions to museums and Chinese movies. MGC also has a biennial international study tour to China where students can immerse themselves in the culture first hand.

MGC_DragonsOur aim in the Confucius Room is to inspire students’ interests in culture, language, and the diversity of the world. The magic of Asia is waiting to be explored.

If you have any questions, ideas or inquires about Chinese (course, language, culture activity etc.) in MGC, please do not hesitate to contact me.
